Panama Hats for sale in the UK come in may qualities, and colours. Some may be blocked and made in the UK but all are woven by hand in Ecuador, the process to weave the Hat body can take from a day to a week to many weeks depending on the quality of the weave process. Their finish can either be a Natural straw colour of bleached White or dye coloured. Made from the plaited leaves of the Toquilla plant (Carludovica palmata). Commonly called a straw (Paja) Hat, its popularity increased when President Theodore Roosevelt visited the Panama Canal during construction wearing this style of Hat.
Brim width is Approx. 2.5 to 2.75" with a sewn edge, and fabric sweatband.
NOTE:
Snap Brim Panama Hats are often shipped with Brim in an all round snapped "Up" position, the photos show a Hat that has had it brim finished off with a "dip" the front and remains still snapped up at the rear, ready to wear, that you can put in when your Hat arrives. The ultimately shape and size of dip at the front may vary depending on your head shape when you put your Hat on.
As straw and hand woven, each Hat will be slightly different.
