Sun Helmets for sale have many patterns and styles. The Wolseley pattern helmet was worn by the British Army from about 1899 to 1948 and described in the 1900 Dress Regulations as "the Wolseley pattern cork helmet".
Initially made from cork, then pith, this modern Helmet is made overseas with Traditional Pith. The helmet is covered by tradition white cloth and has a "Mediterranean" style White Band around the crown (Other Helmet Styles have a Puggaree). Each shell size cover multiple sizes using an adjustable velcro sweatband inside from Approx 58cm to 62cm) in a Once Size Fits Most set up.
Also traditionally known as a pith helmet, tropical helmet, summer helmet, topee, sola topee, solar topi, the helmet was as famously worn by a Governor-generals, Governors, Diplomatic Corps officers in the Royal College of Arms and consular officials in British Overseas Territories and colonies.
As standard the helmet comes with a non-functioning domed aerator at the top. The Chin Strap is often not worn, or it maybe adapted with alternate styles for more ceremonial look.
