The “Electric” Hat Iron – Atkins Patent, though note it uses hot water, not electricity!

We provide a full polishing service at our workshop, and use limited amounts of controlled heat in the process. Though these Hat Irons were designed to be used at home by a customer (or their Butler!) to polish thier silk top hat themselves. Rather like a hip flask they can be filled with fluid (hot water) and the cap resealed.

A Great Vintage tool find that could just fit in a Christmas Stocking! Providing just enough heat to smooth the Plush and revive the polish of a Silk Top Hat. It has a semi curved base so can be used both on the flat “Tip” (Top) of the crown and also the curved side crown and part of the brim too.
